Match the Picture entry - Taurinor

This was a lot of fun! The swords I'm wearing, in the order I got them are:
On the back - cheap stainless ren faire bastard sword
Right hip - Hanwei practical arming sword, Hanwei revolutionary war hanger
Left hip - Valiant Armory Norwich falchion
On my chest I have a couple of utility-type knives, and the buckler is GDFB. Front and center is my rigging knife from my 18th century sailor kit. The horsebow is my fiancé's; the longbow is mine. Unfortunately, the maille is made of aluminum rings, so only for looks.

Nice! I like that you matched the pose so well. And the smirk. :)

(Maybe not the place for it, but I'd love more information on the nautical knife. I was working on a ditty bag once upon a time... one of these days I need to get back to it. But the fella turned up an awesome lignam vitae ... knot..loosening..tool I forget the name of.

Great photo with a confident stance!

That would be a "fid" and a good ditty bag is essential to any Ranger that plans on slipping the surly bonds of land to pursue a foe "mobilis a mobile"!

BTW Taurinor you did a wonderful job, great pic!

Thanks, everyone! Maybe I should list the smirk as one of my weapons.

As for the rigging knife, I got it from Taylor Rose Historical Outfitters. It's about a foot long overall, with a 7 inch blade. The blade is an inch and a half across, and an eighth of an inch at the spine. The point is practically squared off, with the spine side slightly rounded off to make it look a little less clunky.

Eventually I'm going to replace the grip scales with ones with a hole for a lanyard so I can fasten it to my belt when I wear it with my 18th century kit.

Fids are awesome. I use my awl to help get knots undone, but I need to get a proper for eventually. They make it a lot easier.

They are also a bit more forgiving if one slips than a proper awl!

Good Job!
