Sorry for such a long necro-post (real life has gotten in the way) The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan with later help from Brandon Sanderson is a great series. While there are not exactly rangers there are several groups that are close, the Aiel and Warders being the closest.

I just finished book 3 of Rangers Apprentice and have enjoyed them very much so far.
