John Muir Trail
John Muir Trail
Hello all. Just wanted to let you guys know about my trip on the John Muir Trail. I went out there and hiked the entire trail in 13 days. What a workout. We went and made a video on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7wYn8QYSys I figured some of you might want to hike out there someday so now you guys can get pumped up for it.
The mountains are calling and I must go.
The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.
Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.

Re: John Muir Trail
Awesome! Are you going to do it in Ranger kit?
There are no safe paths in this part of the world. Remember you are over the Edge of the Wild now, and in for all sorts of fun wherever you go.
Re: John Muir Trail
I rematch it a lot and laugh and many parts and I just want to go back and hike it again. It was such a great experience and I watch it and I am envious of my ability to go and do that haha.Straelbora wrote:What an accomplishment. Looking forward to watching the video (enviously).

It was awesome. I already went but I used modern gear. But i would love to go back and do it with a ranger kit as soon as I get my kit made which may take a little bit. Maybe we can get a nice group trek to do it in ranger kits.Kortoso wrote:Awesome! Are you going to do it in Ranger kit?

Yeah I am defiantly missing them and I've only been gone a few months but at least I will be able to go hike out in New Mexico soon. I can get my mountain air there. But I so wish to go back there and explore a lot more like John Muir did.Elleth wrote:Oh that looks like a fantastic trip!

Those mountains are the pinnacle of creation. Nothing like the high sierra anywhere in the world. Glad you got to go!

I would love to hike around there too. Maybe I will have to go hike many mountains around the U.S. that would be so much fun to hike.Manveruon wrote:And don't forget, there's always Colorado! ;DBrownno wrote:Yeah I am defiantly missing them and I've only been gone a few months but at least I will be able to go hike out in New Mexico soon. I am also so glad I got to go and in the video we talk about how like the three other guys wanted to pull out. But I told them to sleep on it and we can decide in morning plus I also had them bring it up to Steve the only adult out of us. A trip with 4 16-17 year olds is definitely something crazy for sure.Greg wrote:Those mountains are the pinnacle of creation. Nothing like the high sierra anywhere in the world. Glad you got to go!

It's also not far from where our own Sierra Strider has been mapping his trail.

Definitely the finest people. Maybe slightly crazy in the eyes of others but the finest amongst friends.Greg wrote:Same trail, actually. Attracts the finest people!Kortoso wrote:It's also not far from where our own Sierra Strider has been mapping his trail.

Re: John Muir Trail
Finally watched the whole video. Wow, what a great experience. Some day, when you are an old man, you'll walk that trail again in your memories.
