A Ranger and her lyre...dressed funny. ;)

Post by Eledhwen »

A taste if of the sound of my Kravik lyre. Fragments of story and poetry coming soon. This is a lovely instrument and the one I am most likely to take with me into the Wilds. Light, compact, lovely voice. What else is needed? Yes, I am wearing funny clothing in a strange looking place. ;)

How about a video out in the woods somewhere???

Sure, when it's not raining, snowing, colder than hell. Spring comes and goes here, mostly goes so far. Snow due today even. Until I make a case, I won't take her out into the cold and wet. :)

Oh that sounds lovely!

Was the instrument choice inspired by Wardruna / Einar Selvik, by any chance? :)

No, I wasn't even aware Wardruna and related used them. I like the look of it, I already like lyres, so I have one. :)

An absolutely beautiful piece Eledhwen! I was instantly transported the sunlit forests of Middle Earth. I cannot wait for more videos! :)

Thank you, Ruinar. :) I have a further piece...fragments of pieces I am working on, really. Finger exercises as well. Assuming I can get the video to post. Alas, I am still in the wrong clothing and environment. I shall try to ensure I have at least some proper garments on in future, and perhaps get outside, weather ever permitting.

In the darkest part of Sherwoods glade, in the thickest part of the wood, there are those who say, can still be seen, the ghost of Robin Hood.

My son was talking about harps last night. He had made a play one with Popsicle sticks and rubber bands (they're studying the Celts in history right now, and it was a craft he'd done) and was playing it for me, when I mentioned that I knew someone who played. We pulled up these videos, and he was completely fascinated by them! Thank you for taking the time to share your gifts with the rest of us. I can't tell you how many times something has come up with my kids, and I've come here to share what a member of our community has posted!
