He was definitely a literary giant, on par with his father (though he'll never get THAT kind of credit.). As far as this community's pursuits are concerned, some of the very best Ranger kit-related references we have exist only in books that never would have seen the light of day if not for him. So glad we got to get the grand trifecta of works from him this past decade or so, ins the form of Children of Hurin, The Fall of Gondolin, and Beren and Luthien. What a writer!
