This is not WMA, but it is applicable and this looked like the best category to post it under:

Dang. Reminds me of what Aragorn says to Legolas about Gimli during the Battle of Helm's Deep: "Never did I see an axe so wielded." I always felt like the axe was a sort of brutish, unrefined weapon, but some of this is positively elegant.

The axe is powerful, no doubt. Experienced users find it has a grace and elegance unique to it. I really do like the axe.

Just watching makes me cringe thinking of the injuries that the axe could inflict. An axe can certainly be a devastating weapon.

Beautiful work. I love anything that shows a fine weapon like the axe is the opposite of what society thinks.

Awful lot of longsword and half-swording in there! Just goes to prove, once again...there are only so many ways to swing an [insert bladed weapon here]!
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

The first vid is quite impressive though the same multiple strikes to opponents once they are down seems a tad wasteful to me in terms of energy....no matter how much pain taking ability we have...a guy goes through my leg and I'm down he doesn't need to hit me in the chest 2 extra times, but I also don't study the form so could just be the kata of it as it were.

You can still be killed by a dying man.

That is probably why the put it in the kata.

Depends if you are dealing with snaga or full-blown Uruk-Hai, of course.

I tried doing this some time back. I wound up hitting the shaft of my spear against the upright that the milk jug target was on... the shaft broke, and that was it for spear testing that day. I was probably hitting harder than I needed to; the length of the spear really multiplies the power of the cut.
