I find the type XVIIIb not really optimized for cutting harder targets because of the midrib, but they work alright on these bottles. I prefer the Count (XVIIIa) for cutting, but I'd rather not sully its blade with this foul plastic.

Typo? Or is this some weird update to the typology that I’ve never heard of?

Either way great cutting! That Reeve and the Bayeux have long been on my bucket list of swords to own.

Thanks, yes... I had meant XIIIa, although XVIIIa is a valid type. Must just have still had the XVIII on my mind.

I thought that as well but with thoughts of your Santo project in my mind I immediately went to the internet to search in hopes of finding some cool mash up of the two.

This was interesting. Everything in my neck of the woods is ice with snow on top. Even though I succeeded I'm probably going to reshoot this one on more stable ground if time allows. Mostly because I felt like a cat over water while cutting which annoyed me. Equally annoying was that I forgot to turn the phone sideways and ended up with a very narrow shot. Also a tip for those struggling to balance the bottles cap to cap. Using your thumb depress the top of the cap. This gets rid of any convex shape to the top and they tend to balance much better.

I call this a success, but only just. I'm planning on revisiting it before next week is out, just for a cleaner cut, but here's this one for laughs (you can see my own chuckle as I walk away...). It went quite cleanly through the cap at an upward angle, but I'd like one in the meat of the bottle too.

This was actually my first success at stacking the stupid water bottles cap to cap...and I was right. It made all the difference in keeping the bottom bottle on the stand. I hit the caps with a sanding block and had success.

I suspect an orc neck wouldn't argue either way!

Here...this is cleaner, and you can hear the other half landing off-camera a split second later.

Another tip, based on what Ursus suggested, for stacking bottles...after filling them, I put the cap on most of the way, and then pushed down on the lid WHILE screwing it down tight. It created a small vacuum in the bottle, which kept the cap flat. A quick scrape with a blade took the little plastic pip off the center of the cap, and they stacked with ease. I don't mind another challenge stacked this way now that I've got a system!

And here I was planning to avoid stacking for the next one. It's my turn to challenge again, correct?

Ok, I'll try to have something ready for the weekend.
Until then, I took advantage of the weather to try a variation on the instant-snow trick.
