Nice! A finely executed sequence. Rising false edge cuts are always a fun challenge!

Alright, so what you need is the youtube button above the posting field. When you hit that, this will appear:

Code: Select all

Paste the url from your video between the two sets of bracketed text, like this:

Code: Select all

NOW, delete everything from the last backslash forward, like this:

Code: Select all

And the result is this:

Nicely done! You responded first...start thinking about your challenge once we're all caught up.

Sadly I get an S. My first cut rocked the stand and the far left bottle began to tip so I hurried to catch it and fudged my edge alignment on the horizontal and cut near the caps. As a Result I cut the last two bottles but did not leave the bottoms standing. The shame of it.

Sorry mines in URL form I’m recording and posting from my phone.

For what it's worth, I may not have made this terribly clear:
You have two weeks to pull it off. There's nothing in the rules that says it has to be on your first attempt! Keep going!

I may yet give it another go but for me personally I will probably keep my first attempts on each new sequence. It seems more sporting to me in that way, to each their own.

Coming in under the wire on this one. I fixed up one of the cutting stands (well sort of). Enough to take the first challenge, anyway. It's been about 8 or 9 years since I've cut except for one or two isolated incidents.

First attempt was with my two hander (wanted a challenge).

Failed miserably !!!!!!!!!!!!

Switched to a Hanwei AT200

Did a little better but the deck I put on the top of the stand was too flexible and the right hand bottle flipped off when doing the second cut.

Live and learn. I never used a deck on my stand. I went to one cutting party (the only one) and had the misfortune of seeing that after repeated cuts the nail holding the deck on raised up and a cut (not mine thank God) hit the nail and took a piece out of the blade. It was a brand new custom Atrim and one of the prettiest I've seen. It looked like GIJoe took a bite out of the blade.

You have until Friday the 18th, if that helps any.

That blade is ENORMOUS.

I usually avoid metal fasteners in that region of the stand for this reason, as I've seen the same happen several times! Deeply set screws are a pretty safe bet, otherwise I prefer just pegged in place, which also makes it easy to break down for transport (or can be glued as well if permanent).
