Pictures of your Sewing Kit

Attached is a picture of my sewing kit, a necessity for any ranger.
Anyone else care to post pics of theirs?

Mines not as elaborate, I just keep a pair of those Chinese scissors and some artificial sinew with some steel needles in a needle box. The scissors are sharp enough to use as an awl with most leather weights.

I love sewing kits, lol lots of goodies there. I think Greg inspired mine, if I remember correctly.

Thank you Ken, The spools were bought at either Michael's or Jo-Ann's and had to be turned down for them to hold a useful amount of thread, then I stuck a piece of dowel through them to keep them together.

Jonathan, I have three pairs of scissors like those. They are amazing, aren't they!

Good stuff here guys! Could I maybe pester you fine folks to sound off on what items you consider essential to have in your field sewing kits?

Buttons weren't in wide use yet for me, and fabric can be cut with my utility knife. So essentially, a needle, thread, and watertight container.

The essentials for me would be needle, thread, and beeswax.

This is my copy of an 18th century "housewife" sewing kit which I carry in my knapsack.

The pin cushion I stuffed with natural unwashed sheep fleece with the lanolin still in it to protect the needles. A piece of leather supports the shape. I don't need scissors, I use a knife. The animal sinew is for repairing the soles on moccasins.

I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The kit in the brass box contains some ivory needles I made next to a wood and bone needle case. I am working on antler needles.
Some wooden, leather, antler and mother-of-pearl buttons.
A leather thimble.
cotton thread. I have a couple rolls of flax thread but it is too fragile for sewing so I have no idea of what to do with it.

The kit in the leather bag is more modern.

SAILOR'S SAIL-MAKING PALM.

I wanted a means to sew leather or heavy quilting so I made a sailmaker's palm.
Here it is.
The simplified version that is lighter and easier to carry.

The needle is pressed against the leather which holds it as it is pressed through the cloth or leather and the metal backing protects my hand.
A simple solution to the problem of sewing leather or heavy quilting in the field.
