Interesting craftsman - nice stuff!

A lot of reenactment level work is about learning appropriate historical crafts and skills. This board is for all general skills that don't have their own forum.

Interesting craftsman - nice stuff!

So this guy is it looks like primarily a prop builder / sci fi memorabilia collector, but he ALSO loves LOTR, and has made some nice replicas of WETA work:

RAYMOND GAUSTADNES (@DIGITALRAYMOND)

I especially love his "Bilbo backpack" and "Weathertop" sword:

There's lots of plastic geekitude to wade through (which many here might ALSO like :) ) - but he's got some really impressive skills in trad materials!

Small world. :)

Wait! Is he also "Shockbolt Models" on Shapeways? Some of the more recent work on that account looks reaaaaly familiar.
If so, I'm glad he took on the WETA Aragorn and Boromir buckles. Manv was very happy. :)

Yep! Same guy! And clearly a kindred spirit! Really friendly and helpful, too!
