Here's a good site for Tarp Tents.

Very nice , a lot of great easy to use designs for specific weather using the same piece of material.

The frontier moves with the sun and pushes the Red Man of these wilderness forests in front of it... until one day there will be nowhere left. Then our race will be no more, or be not us.

A good set up. You could leave the front open in wet or cold weather & use a reflector fire using rocks.

This video I made is called "Making Camp". It shows how easy it is to set up an oilcloth shelter.

Stills of the same shelter.

I do most of my trekking in winter using this shelter. I only carry one blanket. Firewood is stacked close so I can stoke the fire in the night without leaving my bed. My bed is just a pile of sticks to keep me off the ground. I will cover this with bracken if there is enough around.
I always keep a pile of dry kindling in the back of the shelter in case the fire should go out in the night. I use my trade kettle to catch rainwater run off from the oilcloth and pour it into my costrel.

I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

What I've found out I can do is tie the hood of my cloak on to a spear and peg out the other two corners. It's not terribly warm or anything, but gives me a bit of shade in the day. My cloak isn't waterproof, but I guess it would keep off the rain too.

I thought I would share a great way that I use to set up a tarp....into a tent...

My tarp is 8' wide and 8' long...this set up makes a tent 8' long 5' wide and 4' tall....and no wasted floor space.....

Ok, so I know this is an old post, but I would like to see this shelter. I'm into tarps and tarp tents, and always like to add another shelter to my toolbox! the link shows no pictures, so if any one can make it/post it/ and pm me, that would be great!!!

Good one. If you leave the front open, you can get some heat from a fire.
