Frontier Shelters as Ranger Stations?

“These huts and cabins were built of the simplest materials that they had available on hand. Small logs, easy to cut, easy to haul and handle by just one person. The bark of the trees is just incredibly useful to use as a shingle material and of course, you can even strip off the inner material and use it as primitive rope. You could build these structures out of nothing but what you had available on hand.”

Hm, sounds like something a ranger would build. No?

Townsends' video on frontier shelters got me thinking. Do you think rangers would have occasionally built shelters like these dotted across Eriador on their common patrol routes to act as "ranger stations" as a safe place to meet up with other rangers or to resupply? Or do you think these would stick out too much and they were more likely to use natural alcoves, groves, and caves to better employ stealth? Or do you think there were enough ruins about to shack up in as Strider does with Weather Top?

Actually the topic has come up before. Here's one from a dozen years ago:

Other threads have discussed caches of supplies and foods.
