Re: The Hobbit - 2011 & 2012
I know, lets get Kate Madison, if she could do what she did on "Born of Hope" with limited funds think what she could do with a real budget!
Many evil things there are that your strong walls and bright swords do not stay.
You know little of the lands beyond your bounds.
Peace and freedom, do you say?
The North would have known them little but for us.

Darn it Del Toro/MGM! *FOUR LETTER WORDS*
...well, I've waited at least 4 years for this movie, one or two more probably won't kill me...probably
I hope Peter Jackson will get the job, but Kate Madison wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Re: The Hobbit - 2012
Alright, I'm pretty sure everyone's aware now, but to keep this thread up-to-date, here's the deal. The Hobbit has gotten the green light from the studios and will begin production in February of 2011, with an estimated release of December 2012. Martin Freeman is the current favorite in the rumors for the part of Bilbo Baggins, and Sylvester McCoy has claimed that he's been cast for the part of Radagast the brown. There are news articles all over the interwebs with info about this, so just do a google search for "Hobbit Movie" and you'll find plenty of info.

AH you beat me to it Greg. I saw the article on Yahoo on Saturday but had no time to post it.

Re: The Hobbit - 2012
So I was browsing eBay out of boredom when I came across the folloing auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEY-OVERSTOCK-ME ... 415bb73fcf
It does say it's a "Disney" prop. But in the description, it specifically says "Made in New Zealand." Now I don't have a degree in telepathy, but that sounds an awful lot like WETA. I can't think of any movies offhand that would require a "Black Arrow", and it doesn't look familiar. Anyone who recognizes it from another film, please speak up.
It says it's an "overstocked" item...I just can't imagine WETA over-stocking on anything...but there IS only "one" black Arrow...how many hard copies do they really need?
So, in short...is this possibly the "Black Arrow" Bard of Dale uses to slay Smaug?

I'm pretty sure it's from Chronicles of Narnia. It's a Disney film and Weta DID do weapons and armor for it.

Re: The Hobbit - 2012
Well that's disappointing. Oh well. I was kinda hoping for a different-looking black arrow in the film anyway.
