Just a heads up...

Post by Greg »

As a few of you have seen on facebook, as of last week, I am officially engaged to be married this coming June, 2010. The chaos of planning has begun, and I'm doing everything I can do keep from becoming stressed amongst all of it. Things like trekking on a virtually weekly basis courtesy of my job up at the Ranger Station at Lake Berryessa have been a huge help in the stress relief, and have helped me generate new ideas for kit and such (and opportunities to test said kit) fairly quickly as well.

I'll keep you all posted as things continue to develop!

(Arms across chest) WAIT A MINUTE YOUNG MAN!!! Is she a Dunedaneth? How come we've not met her? Most importantly, can she cook?

I actually asked my wife if she could cook before we got married, but it was a joke as it is here. Congrats. I hope and pray the best for you.

She is the most beautiful of the woodland elves the manner of which I have ever seen in my travels.

As for cooking...how d'ya think we met?!?!

As for that last part...not even joking, actually...David (who is my former college roommate) got a call from her asking him to come over and bring his roommate (me) over to help her get rid of some leftovers. The rest is history. Thanks!

Congratulations...and best wishes for the marriage.
Still round the corner there may wait a new road or a secret gate and though I oft have passed them by a day will come at last when I shall take the hidden paths that run west of the moon, east of the sun.

Congratulations to you and your lady, I wish you both every happiness.

I love the fact that you posted this in Dunedain Culture instead of General Discussion, Greg

Congratulations Greg, I wish you both happiness in your travels together.

Will the marriage be suitably themed? :P

Suitably themed? Well, her ring looks reasonably elvish in artistic inspiration, for starters...

There isn't really gonna be a whole lot of Middle Earth present. She tolerates my hobby and enjoys going to renfaire and dressing up for it, but it's not something she's been around all her life, or something we really do together, so that'd be more for me than her. I asked if I could put my groomsmen in cloaks, but it didn't go over well. It's all good though. I'm a musician, so tuxes and such are plenty common fare. I WILL have a live professional Uilleann Piper at the wedding playing a part of the wedding march, which I'm writing, so there's a taste of Arnor for you!
