I know alot of people who use live journal though. Not sure on what their policies are.

Well, it isn't free, but it's close: powweb.com has hosting for U$3.88/mo, that will allow you to use your own domain (the fee includes the domain), and they've have Wordpress as a super-simple installation (basically, press a button).

Managing Wordpress does require some thought, but it isn't too hard. It's more complex than managing your account here, but not by a lot. If it tells you there is an update available when you log in to post, you will want to let it do that (it's pretty much automatic).

The basic Wordpress theme is very basic, but you can get others like this: http://wpthemer.net/2008/01/08/middle-e ... theme.html

There are also e-commerce options through them, but I haven't explored those options.

First I also thought about free web hosting but some friends of mine told me that it is better to use paid web hosting and that it is not too expensive. So I decided to choose IX Web hosting and I am very satisfied with their services. I can really recommend them and besides this they have a great customer service.

Connection complete! I'm working on another smiths site as we speak but as soon as I'm done we can talk. If your not looking for anything fancy (I.E. stunning flash intros and the like) I can get one together for you. Like Pete I do this in my spare time so it'll take me a bit but it'll get done. If your interested just shoot me a PM and we can get the basics out of the way. That way when I have the other site up and running and can start and focus on yours.

Eric.. I do know that you can sell your blades on Yahoo's online stores. http://spiers-saddlery.stores.yahoo.net/ Stonekeep Armoury and several others from the Archive sell on there.

It's an option and so far I haven't found anything that says you can't sell blades.. or you could even open an EBAY Store.

This is all options for you that are free to start. Several if not all of those online stores will take small fees from your sales. I'm not sure on the percentage.
