I agree with the old saying that a knife should be pointed enough to pick your teeth with, sharp enough to shave your face with (or legs ladies), heavy enough chop wood with and wide enough to paddle with. While that may be just a bit over the top, a knife is the most important part of my kit and every Ranger should have a good one.
