Latest leather work projects

A lot of reenactment level work is about learning appropriate historical crafts and skills. This board is for all general skills that don't have their own forum.

Latest leather work projects

Post by man_of_tanith »

So despite moving house last weekend whilst also working waking nights i managed a few projects
First up a shameless mimic of a pouch for my hudson bay tinderbox
treated with mink oil to protect it from water damage

Then i decided i need a lighter travel leather work set (amazing what happens at 03:00 when you are getting a little sleepy)

Open and with contents-Awl, Pliers, Beeswax, Artificial Sinew, Black and Brown waxed thread

Then i produced a veg tan case for my monocular

and next to the monocular

i still need to treat the monocular case and produce a lid(thinking same as case but not as deep and slightly looser tube)

These are all in my line of thinking for post change ranger in the emberverse world, light leather work set for running repairs, pouch to prevent rattle against other kit, monocular case to protect the precious prechange monocular

Nice work! Really great job on the end of that monocular case, the stitching is very neat. It's going to be great with that cap on it.
