SOme interesting quiver ideas

Hard Kit is all other accoutrements that are not clothing, weapons or armour. This includes pots and tents, and flint & steel, and other things like that.

SOme interesting quiver ideas

Post by sgainbrachta »

I'm not a huge fan of a lot that ETSY has to offer- except for MY stuff, which is awesome, of course ( ;-) ) but this caught my eye this morning.

This maker makes quivers that also carry the bow, an ax and a pouch of varied size. Oh! And a rope. Because an adventure without a 50' rope is just not an adventure...

Overall some neat ideas!

Yep her work has been mentioned on the forum before. http://ranger.budgetauthenticity.org/fo ... f=2&t=2460

I had just ordered a quiver from someone else when I found her work. If I had to do it over I would likely have ordered from her, as the guy I ordered from ended up having health issues and it has been a year before he actually even started working on my quiver. However he has now gotten on track and has started work on my quiver and I hope to get it within a month or so.

You might also want to check out Hidehandler who is the person I am waiting on a quiver called the Mountain Hunter Elite http://www.hidehandler.com/back_quivers.htm
Which has a top lid, a removable bottom panel and can be worn in many different ways. As a Side quiver, back quiver with either top draw or bottom draw.

I am planning to mod it to have similar ability as Madeofleather's quivers. I have enough leather working skills that I can make a removeable strap system for the Mountain Hunter Elite once I get it. So in the long run I will end up getting the best of both Hidehandler and Madeofleather style quivers. Though it will take a bit more $ and effort for me to mod up the quiver.

Hiderhandler also has a lot of other very unique quivers as well as the standards.

He has some great side quivers like the side kick line, including the full protection side kick http://www.hidehandler.com/side_quivers.htm

Something I really like about Steve Catt's (Hidehandler) work is he offers quivers with full protective covering. These are quivers made to travel and hike with, they are able to shed bad weather and keep arrows safe. There aren't many quivers out there that consider what happens if it rains or snows. Some offer a bag to cinch over your fletching, but little else is offered. Steve has some very natural innovative quiver cover designs that really make sense. Just as MadeofLeather's axe, bed roll, small bag, etc quivers make a lot of sense as a travel quiver.

BTW the only video review I have seen of Madeofleather's work can be seen here. The guy is sort of woodsy rangerish elfish newagey. But it does have some good looks at the quiver he got from her.
