Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
Aragorn: It's the beards.

Almost too stunning to waste on stabbing wargs with, but a Ranger does what a Ranger has to do.
There are no safe paths in this part of the world. Remember you are over the Edge of the Wild now, and in for all sorts of fun wherever you go.

This is a gorgeous piece to be sure. I'm curious though, regarding your full tang construction. The books, understandably don't cover knife tangs, but in the movies everything seems to be hidden tang? I also wonder if full tang was used in the medieval period at all? In any case it is amazing work. Far better than I can even come close to. I especially like that you have what appears to be both Damascus and inlay patterns on the blade.

Full tang knives and weapons were definitely used through out history, bronze age swords, germanic single edged swords, baurenwehrs and dussacks were only some of those with this construction. I tend to disregard films as an inspiration so i dont really know if they used fulltang construction, i would think not, as its harder to do (timewise)

Yes full tang was used during medieval times. Cinquadas were made both with full tang and hidden as were many ballocks. Butcher and other trademens knives were full tang also.kleenur wrote: I'm curious though, regarding your full tang construction. Nice knife by the way.

I appreciate that take on the Dwarf aesthetic quite a bit more than the overly-angular Hobbit film shtuffs. Very nice cultural nods.
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

A true piece of art.
I like the name, too.
What is the length?

That looks great Gulli! I have always admired Owen's blade work. You have taken it to the next level with the grip and pommel. This looks like it would take a big bite out of a warg.!

Oh. Oh my.
That is just jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
And it looks like a horrifyingly effective cleaver!

That sheath is beautiful, would you ever consider selling similar brass fittings?

I've been following your recent posts about this and other projects on Instagram, and I must say, your work particularly awakens that Dwarvish piece of my soul that cherishes and craves beautiful things wrought by skilled, crafty hands.
