Next time I'm going to take my horse and my chainsaw, and pack out the rest. This tree was one of three birches that have been a landmark for me since I was very small, I called them the "three sisters", I hated to see her down but at least she wont go to waste.Got lucky today, very rare find!

Got lucky today, very rare find!
I was cruisin' my stompin grounds betwixt the French Broad river and the baldies when I came across a special birch tree blowed up by the roots, on closer inspection I found the mother load of curly and burled birch. Birch and sugar maple are two of my favorites. I had my pack and my bow saw so I brought a bit of the root home, it will be awhile before I can use it but I was over joyed to actually find some native figured birch Next time I'm going to take my horse and my chainsaw, and pack out the rest.
