Nice work, that looks amazing
Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.

58" NTN
57#@26"
Brace height 4.5"
Finished with birch oil harvested and processed by Udwin
I'm in the process of making a jig for splicing up a more permanent string (hence the marks on the current one) as well as spine-sorting my 200-250 shafts, but that's all news for another thread. She's done.

Greg, is that a traditional way of securing the string ? I'm only familiar with modern strings that come sized and have loops on both ends.

It's more adjustable than a Flemish twist. I can't say if it's actually traditional or not...bowyers call it the Bowyer's knot, while I've known it most of my life from Scouting and now as an arborist as the Timber hitch. Either way, it chokes a rope onto a log nicely and doesn't go anywhere.
I've had other strings in the past that were twisted together on the top end and tied like this on the bottom nock to make the brace height more adjustable. Once I get my preference dialed in, I'll be splicing both and leaving it behind, as it CAN slip over time on this smooth, bark-free surface.
