Ok, challenge number three... Two cuts to the same bottle, don't knock it over.
Not exactly what I was planning, but I had only a couple bottles left, so it only takes one, and no stacking!

I had to throw in the towel on this one. There may be a factor of sharpness to consider, or blade type/profile that contributed, but against all efforts with two different blades, this one just wasn’t happening.

It also appears that I may not be alone.

Oh well!

Odigan, throw up another when you can!

Last weekends weather was rough here and I’ve been traveling for work all week. Not gonna be back in time to make this one I’m afraid.

Thanks all, I think to be fair it would be best if someone who hasn't gotten to challenge yet did so.

I'll try to get one up tonight or tomorrow. If the situation occurs again, we'll have Brett come up with one.

Pardon the delay...but at least we're back on schedule!

The challenge:
Forehand swing over left bottle, upward false edged cut to left bottle, downward leading edged cut to right bottle; thrust through center bottle without it coming off your blade (can't cut through the side and slip off, and tip has to penetrate backside of bottle.) No smallswords or rapier.

Nice! That was pretty slick, been wondering when we'd see a thrust incorporated.

Looks like a fun one! I'll probably have to go for one of my arming swords or my XVIIIa on this one, there's no way a thrust from Cadeyrn wont cut the bottle in half in the process. No if this blasted rain would let up... Just for kicks I also want to go ahead and pick up Odigans last challenge even though it is no longer valid.

If you're worried about blade width, I find thrusts with two-handers fairly intuitive with the blade vertical...might be an option to try.

True. I guess I was more worried about duplicating the exact mechanics and not focusing on the fine print "thrust through center bottle without it coming off your blade"

The real goal for me is to get people hitting the bottle more-or-less in the exact center. A flat blade is generally more intuitive with a higher thrust for arming sword, so that's what I did.
