Finally an understanding and a name
Re: Finally an understanding and a name
My thanks to each of you. Friday night I received a gut punch from the VA as they denied my claim, now denying that I have PTSD. Funny since two of their psychiatrists and my counselor have diagnosed it. So my fight continues. But it is comforting to know that each of you have my back.

Welcome back! I am quite new here (been active some months now) so it is jolly to see old faces (for many others, new for me) return. It is very brave to speak about your fight with mental illness, speaking up only lets more people realise that they too are not alone!

Just a quick update on this. The Veteran's Benefit Administration denied my claim saying that I don't have PTSD but I do have non-service connected "Undefined Depressive Disorder." This is after a VA psychologist and a VA case worker have diagnosed me with PTSD. We have enlisted the help of a lawyer.
