Sewing kit
I thought I'd take a moment and post up the sewing kit that my eldest son made for me last year, made from hand-engraved deer leg bone with leather stopper, and the paper package it came in.

Re: Sewing kit
I just realized that this should probably been posted in the "Hard Kit" forums...the Mods can move it, if they see fit.

Thanks for the compliments, all; he's a pretty crafty fellow, and is actually working on creating an Elf Ranger kit for himself.

How cool!
Does the leather stopper double as an awl?

Re: Sewing kit
Yes...he hardened the center of the leather (somehow) so that the blunt/oversized needle could be used as an awl, without pushing through the back of the stopper; there's also a skein of thread that tucks inside the bone tube, too.Manveruon wrote:How cool!

Oh very nice - using the awl as a stopper is genius!
