New cloak

Post by Taylor Steiner »

This is a Fell and Fair waxed canvas cloak. Seems nice so far. Water resistant. Now I just gotta wait for some rain

Looking good :P is the hood part of it?

I still use my waxed cloak if the weather's particularly bad, and in my opinion anyway, it preforms better than a modern coat because it keeps my legs dry, and there's no shortage of rain in the UK to test it

Thank you Iodo :P Yep the hood is attached. I ended up customizing it so the hood isn't so open in the front.

What kind of wax should I get for this thing Iodo? I got some for my duster that works, but is there anything you'd recommend?

If it works on the duster, the fabrics look similar, it should also work on the cloak, what kind do you have for the duster? and am I right in thinking the cloak is cotton canvas?

Yep cotton canvas. Nice I will try it then. It's just wax that they sell for dusters, not sure the name. Thank you

If it comes with a healthy layer of wax you shouldn't need to re-apply wax straight away, unless it lets water through

Yeah they call it "water resistant" and it does have quite a bit of wax now, so I'll wait. Thanks for the tips :P
