Leather Wrap Gaunlets.
I made some simple wrap gauntlets for about $10! These were inspired by this Skill Tree video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BJSc67kDOU
Start with some cheap leather gloves from Harbor Freight and cut off the fingers. You'll need to restitch the ends of the seams to keep them from unraveling. Then, I dyed and sealed the outside. The sleeve of the glove is made of bison leather from a $5 scraps bag from Tandy Leather. I didn't even cut them, just used the scraps as is so the gauntlets are asymmetrical. Those scraps bags are a great for making lots of little pouches too. The belts are made from veg-tan scraps and dyed. The buckles are made out of copper wire, hammered flat.

I really like the self-made buckles, bought ones wouldn't look right with the 'Rough&Ready' styling of the rest of the gauntlets

I might have to do a little tutorial on the buckles. For being just bent and hammered copper electric wire, they work very well. No soldering or anything.

Remember when I was talking about mixing modern day shoes with a leather leg wrap? THIS is what I was talking about; similar to his gloves/gauntlets. A point where them merge together seemless (more or less).

Skill Tree also has a video about converting modern boots. It might be helpful. I've been using a lot of Skill Tree videos.Tom_Ranger wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 7:28 am Remember when I was talking about mixing modern day shoes with a leather leg wrap? The buckles are what caught my eye first as well. Job well done I'd say.

Echoing everyone else, the buckles are really good! A tutorial would be great, particularly with what thickness of wire you used, how sturdy/bendy they feel, etc.

Thoughts on knives in gauntlets/bracers? Mind you, no Assassin's Creed hidden blade or rogue throwing knife bracers you find in abundance at ren faire. I'm just thinking maybe a small, utility camp knife. Either on the back of the left wrist, or tucked under the end towards the elbow. Thoughts? Yay or Nay?

I think any blade on the forearm says "Assassin", try the off-hand bicep or arm pit if you don't want a belt carry

Not really a fan of this look and doubly so if it's just a camp knife.
I wear mine around the neck or stow it in my satchel and it's ever been easy enough to reach in a hurry.
But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.
