I apologize,I was not trying to make it sound as if I was offended Krotoso im not a big people talker for i have spent many a night in the wild ranging. And I have gear up date so that I am carrying less:
Not bringing my dirk or hunting knife, instead bringing a bushcraft knife with a 5" blade for heavy or light work.
No cloak, using the uper half of the great kilt as a cloak.
Pot.
Large harvers sack for food pot and tarp.
Tunic and anorak.
Walking stick
Small light viking axe
This drops about 10 pounds so i am far better and still warm and dry.
I do thank all of you for your advise!!

No apology needed, brother. As you can see, my hand has not drifted towards the hilt of my broadsword, not even a bit.
Yet it is a Wise One who once said, "no lighter gear than common sense, a traveler cannot carry."
(Not that you lack common sense of course...)

There are no safe paths in this part of the world. Remember you are over the Edge of the Wild now, and in for all sorts of fun wherever you go.
