Home made bows

A central place to talk about weapons and armour, as it relates to your kit. This is where you show it of or talk about making it. Discussing the relative merits of types of weapons goes in the WMA section.

Home made bows

Post by BrianGrubbs »

I haven't seen a link to this site yet, but if you're just getting started in archery, but are daunted by the price of equipment, there is hope! I built my first (and second...and third) bow using instructions from this site http://poorfolkbows.com/ Easy to follow, minimal tool requirements, and all the materials are very cheap. I spent several months off and on making my first bow, and here is the result.

I've made two more since this one, and they've just gotten easier. It's a great way to start bow making, and for us broke types it might be the only way!

Wow Brian, that's a great job! The bow shoots really well, and it looks great!

Great site I just picked up a draw knife the other day and it was the last bow making tool I needed so I'm gonna be able start making a bow soon and I have enough osage for a few bows.
