A friends small forge set up.

It is very easily movable and the hand crank works great. I hope to have a few items made by him soon. Hope this helps anyone who could use another forge or even a first.

Cool stuff. Where could I get a forge set
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not reached by the frost

Sad... :( That anvil is totally useless. Tell him to send it to me so he can get one more useful. :P

Nice simple set-up. He can make about anything he wants right there.

R.G. the firepot in the pic is made of a brake drum. Google it and I'm sure there are plenty of plan online. Or you can search over on iforgeiron.com in their forge section. I go by the name Ecart over there. A hair dryer will work as an air supply until you could do something better. As for anvils, any good solid flat piece of steel that can be made stable and will hold up to pounding hot steel will work.

Good basic setup. He can make the tools he needs from that, easily. Decent anvil, although a double horn version can be a bit more versatile. Still, just about anything can be done with that setup.
