Eledhwen hit it on the head. I, personally, wouldn't use broadheads on any adversary wearing anything stronger than a gambeson. A broadhead that hits maille at a shallower angle than head-on may actually distribute the impact over a larger area than just the point, allowing the maille to succeed in preventing penetration. A bodkin, no matter the angle of impact (pardoning the most extreme angle such as a glancing impact) will always apply all force on its point, easily parting rings and shearing through. A gambeson, however, should be able to be penetrated by a broadhead easily. All broadheads to be used for hunting or any other hypothetical "live-fire" situation should be razor sharp. Using a dull broadhead on a deer or other game opens up the possibility of ripping rather than slicing, which will provide less of a blood trail to follow, less penetration, and exponentially increase the chances of wounding rather than killing, and that's not fair to the animal. Same thing applies to orcs. Razor sharp means RAZOR sharp, and that's the only way to go for hunting humanely and effectively.
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.
