Frothgar, I have to say that I don't think your first box looks amateurish. Perhaps plain, but I'm all for plain and simple. I may somewhat replicate your box in my own attempts at this if you don't mind...I'm sick of having a mint box in my need wallet.
Now the sword shall come from under the cloak.

I decided to decorate one of my fire pistons to match the Tinder box. Now I can call it a dragon stick and make it part of the case with a small clasp knife or railroad spike knife.
