Pwyll, don't worry about rushing to send any money just yet. I haven't heard from the guy in a couple of days and until he starts asking for money because he is starting this, I don't need anything. Easier to keep up with in you guys' pockets than trying to keep it here.

Re: Dunedain Star Brooch...
OK, my mind's a bit fuzzy about things, so I just need to clear up a few things..
When and how do we give you all the details?
Cost of shipping?
Exact cost of brooch?
Can I order one, in say, a months time or later?
Thanks.

Post here http://www.ranger.budgetauthenticity.or ... f=2&t=1152 to let me know what you want, how many and whether steel or bronze
Haven't worked out shipping yet, probably have to worked once the final order is complete and we know what we have
Cost of one brooch is $20 US, plus $4-5 for initial set up costs divided among all who order
Since I don't need the money until they are ready to ship, you could order now and pay in a month or so
Once I have them in hand, I will worry about getting shipping addresses from everyone

OK, just got an update from the guy making these. He is working on the mold right now and they are going to be about 3 inches in diameter. A little bigger than we planned but still pretty good. So things are moving forward.

Re: Dunedain Star Brooch...
That is still not a bad size for a broach.. broaches are bigger pins.

I actually prefer them about that size. Nice!

That will give them some surface area to hold the cloak edges together, (assuming the pin is rugged enough)

I plan on wearing it as a broach and not a cloak pin... it's a star.. don't want pointing things right below my throat hehe

I am with you on the pointy objects near my throat, especially ones that size. I'd probably pin it to the flap of one of my shoulder pouches or something.

Sure, but that's what makes it so great--your Dunedain badge of honor doubles as a weapon-of-last-resort!
Orc: *knocking away Ranger's sword* "You're unarmed, now, filthy tark!"
Ranger: *unclips his brooch* "Oh yeah?" *throws brooch like a shiruken*
Orc: *staggering back with Dunedain star embedded in his forehead* "Gaaah!"
...
That, or I've been watching too much Shanghai Noon.
