Anyone up for an adults-only day hike in southern Indiana sometime over the next month? I've been working on some cold weather gear and am itching to try it out.

The day after my 50th birthday. I think I can wrangle a 'free day.'

Parking lot of the Morgan-Monroe State Forest Nature Center = Tecumseh Trailhead. Time TBA. Bring campfire food, warm clothes, and toys.

My partner and I are planning on a cold-weather camp for the night of the Solstice, but we might be able to pop up to Morgan-Monroe for the afternoon or so on the 19th. I'll let you know.

Might be able to make it. I'm off for two weeks starting the 19th.

Hoooookay...my mother-in-law, who is responsible for relieving me of parental duties on the aforementioned date, has now announced that she will be unable to do so until the 20th. It's set in stone now, but the questions is...would moving this back one day be a problem for anyone?

Curiously, my plans hinge on my mother-in-law's babysitting as well. I could probably do the 20th, but Henry would have to come along (I think between the two of us, I'm more likely to slow us down than he is).

Of more concern is the weather- this far out, they're calling for 'ice pellets' on Saturday the 20th. If the roads are ice-free, fine. Otherwise ...

Are we still go for Saturday? If so, is it OK if Henry tags along? If we're going, I've got some sewing to do this week.

I'm going, no matter what. Weather looks like any rain will happen on Friday, and Saturday should be better. I'll carry some dry kindling to help us get things going. Our destination (yes, we have one this time) should provide some dry material nearby as well. BIG-time photo opportunities there...bring a camera if you can.

What time are we meeting on Saturday? I'll bring a camera.
