Del Tin Dracula Sword

Post by Peter Remling »

This is one of the hard to get Del Tin Drac sword (Del TIn did the original Bram Stroker's Dracula movie sword). Even the Windlass copy is highly sought after for it's compact cutting ability. It's also a great sword for Rangering, big enough to fight with yet small enough to carry in tighter spaces. The blade bears a few blade on blade nicks that can easily been taken out with a file. Blade is unsharpened.

Overall Length 33 1/4", Blade Length 26 1/2", Blade Width 2 1/2@ guard, guard is 9" tip to tip POB 3"

I'm extremely tempted. Like, give me a week and I can just about gurantee that l'll buy it.

Can I get a pic of the full scabbard with enough lighting to see the details on it, and a pic of the top of the pommel, if not at least a description of how it's put together? Is it bolted on like an Atrim, does the whole pommel screw off like a museum replicas sword, or is it hammered down like an Albion?

Thanks Pete.

The previous owner was a leather worker and the scabbard is done in Celtic Knotwork hard to make out black on black.

Greg: If you do decide on it let me know and I'll post it as sold pending

Well if that isn't the most gorgeous thing since...well...time.

Consider things, heh, "decided" of a sort. I'll be shipping out a Money Order in about a week. Shoot me a PM when you get a chance with your address and who I should make it out to, if it's different from your forum name.

Random side question: You wouldn't happen to know what those runelike markings around the pommel would mean, would you? In the photos I can't tell if it's english, but I think I'd be able to if it was, so I'm guessing they're something else. If they're rambling on about the undead or something it doesn't matter to me, they'll still look awesome.

You also said it's not sharpened. Is it false-edged, or has it just been around for awhile so the blade needs some TLC on the edges?

Sword pending- False edge- typical Del Tin slightly rebated

I seem to remember a thread that covered them on SFI a few years ago, I'll have to search and get back to you.

Dang! I have wanted one of these for a long time, and remember the windlass version when I was dead broke and they were practically giving them away. If anything falls through, I would be interested.

Alas, my step-daughter has managed to spend all my mad money for me, so I will have to pass. Regretfully.
