seems like a good deal on a seax

A central place to talk about weapons and armour, as it relates to your kit. This is where you show it of or talk about making it. Discussing the relative merits of types of weapons goes in the WMA section.

The wooden sheath leaves a lot of room for customization.

Kris Cutlery makes a good product. It looks like a nice find.

Ooh.. and for another $20 they've got a layered/folded steel one!
I'm not personally in the market, but it looks like a great introduction to the type.
Toss the scabbard, replace with a leather-and-brass-sheet sheath, slim down and stain the grip: lots of potential there!

Our Rangers Apprentice fans could do a lot worse. I bet re-hafting either with leather washers would be trivial. :)
Persona: Aerlinneth, Dúnedain of Amon Lendel c. TA 3010.
