  Still sounds like a great time. Maybe you can slowly convert him over. Sounds like that would be the perfect ranger community.

Did ya get any pics?

Yeah, Lori has the camera (as usual) so give me a few days, and I'll throw 'em up.

Oh John... *sigh*

So you went to Malakoff? Sounds fun. I haven't been there since I was a kid. We might have to go up there sometime as a day trip when I come home sometime.

BTW, you said you brought your kukhri...did you fix your old one, or did you finally get a hold of a new kukhri instead?

New Kukri. Old Handle's in the process of being repaired, but odds are it'll never be up to full use again. It's too structurally weak now.

What size is a good serviceable blade for one of these? I have been looking at them but really don't know to much about them.

Sorry to hijack but I only need a response or 2.

Aim for 15-17". Not for blade size, but overall size. For your uses, Willrett, you can treat them much like the Seax blades from Flanagan's series, which I know you're a huge fan of. A great, quite heavy and thick for its size, blade that can function well for a variety of camp tasks as well as a fighting blade.

Now...PICS TIME!

Beautiful, as soon as I remember to carry my camera I have to take some pics of some places by my house.
