Tolkien scholars were shocked to find new info on an old ally to the elves during the War of the Ring. Hidden under the floor boards in an old house where J.R.R. Tolien lived during his formative years was an old painting:

"We should have known!" said Dr Felix Umber noted Tolkien authority and consultant to the CDC.
Saw this on a sword forum and thought it very appropriate here. You know my sense of humor.

Wow Santa is ripped, but he does look a bit like a dwarf, and I never noticed that before.

Re: New Info on an old Elven Ally
I heard he was quite the warrior, and that the legions of Morgoth quailed at his coming. I heard that Beorn may have been descended from his line. I heard that in the Second Age he strode right into Mordor and fought his way through thousands of Sauron's orcs merely to deliver a package to a prisoner who languished in the dungeons of Barad-dur.
