Possible starter clothing items??

Post by Willrett »

I found these while searching for some surplus items for our camping trip. Based on the pictures the shirt may have to be modified alittle but the pants should be pretty good. I know od green may not exactly be the first color choice for period garb.

Hey, nothing wrong with getting ahold of some pants and modifying them. Especially if they're wool...makes life a lot easier than trying to find them at reasonable prices, or making them yourself. More power to ya! Besides...you can always dye them later.

On that shirt, it should be fairly easy to take off the collar and sew up the front seam to make it look more appropriate.

Making your own tunic isn't that hard either, just another skill to pick up. If you can learn how to sew cloth and leather, you can learn how to stitch up a wound.

Wow, love the look of her work, great linen tunic, and I agree, a very good price!

Click on the "Reenactor's Flea Market" page...there's a lot of cheap stuff there. Not much of interest to rangers, but there IS a nice rucksack/pack on that page going for next to nothing, if anyone's interested.
