Re: A Very Happy Birthday to Cimrandir

Thank you all! It’s been a pretty good day. I hope everyone’s Christmas was equally good!

Yup! Have been for, oh I don’t know, about 29 years now.

Re: Beorning/Woodman Kit Concept Art

First of all, I love folks going non-Ranger on their first personas. Tolkien's world is so large and interesting and I love when folks explore the nooks and crannys of it. I think going non-leather / tablet woven belt is absolutely the right call. I definitely get the sense of leather not being expl...

Re: New Coin Purse (Or: Little Pouch; Big Headache?)

As for the reinforcement strips, I just cut two very narrow strips of the same leather, glued them in place along the edge where I intended to punch the stitching holes, then glued up the pouch, punched said holes, and saddle-stitched the whole affair together. When I turned it right-side-in again ...

Re: What's everyone working on?

Oh, sorry no. For your bushcraft knife, it seems like that angled loop is your suspension right? It’s neither a horizontal or vertical suspension since it’s angled so I was wondering how you liked it.

Re: [Concept Art] Ranger costume

Hey GreenRanger8! Eofor and I were commenting that you do in fact have the correct color palette. There's very few references to the Northern Rangers and even less to what they wear but we do have a few notes as to colors. Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in ...

Just a little knife.

I debated throwing this up in the thread for Eriargarch but what the heck? Why not a new one? I've just come into possession of a new knife from Króka Thurston's Workshop. It was not made custom for me however. It's part of an experimental "budget" line he's putting together. As he put it,...

It looks great redhand! That's an interesting suspension method you have there. How do you like it?

Re: New Coin Purse (Or: Little Pouch; Big Headache?)

Excellent work! You mentioned a couple points of inspiration but I'll add on that it looks quite a bit like the Iona purse find. So well done indeed on blending together the historical and the fantasy so well yet again! I'm curious about the re-enforcement strips you mention. Would you mind going a ...

Re: Traveling Dwarven persona and pack ideas

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. Hopefully things will start to improve soon. Tacking on to Eofor's comment, I wonder if an inkle-woven sash like Udwin's new Aistan sash would work as a waist strap. Long enough to wrap around and apply just the right amount of pressure and soft enough for...
