Re: Many Happy Returns

Niiiiiice stuff!!! Those horn tips are sweet! What kinds of wood to use make your bows out of? The arrows and bodkin points are quite the thing as well! Beautiful!

Woot for Firefly! Good to see there are some Browncoats among the rangers!

And Eledhwen, do you have a link to Radio Rivendell? Assuming it's an internet station, that is.

Re: Comments on Patterns/Instructions for Ranger Kits

Very true. That's the main reason I've never bought anything from them. I tend to make my own stuff because it's a lot cheaper, and I can customize it exactly as I like, but sometimes it's very tempting to just drop the cash on something here or there, just for the ease of not having to do it myself...

Re: Many Happy Returns

Nice! It's always good to find quality archery supplies at a local ren faire. So many don't have any. The Colorado faire only had some very low-end "fakey" type archery places mostly geared towards kids for many years, but now thankfully has a place selling real bows, to my great satisfact...

Re: Trade point(s)

Beautiful! I love these!

And I still say the top one would make a great Haradrim arrow. When it's attached to the shaft it doesn't look very modern at all to me. The binding, the cutouts, and the shape as a whole all put me in mind of the Southern men.

Re: Comments on Patterns/Instructions for Ranger Kits

Well, I think I'd prefer them taller, so the split hose would be cool, but lower ones are more accurate to the period I'm going for, which is early 13th Century. I was also thinking of looking into some "Viking" style trousers, since honestly I think I'd prefer to wear a complete garment i...

Sounds good to me :)

Seriously though, I'd be super interested in any patterns or instructions folks out there might have for Chausses. Just sayin, heh...

Re: Trade point(s)

Yeah, that point looks great, and very "rangery"! Seems a bit primitive as far as Medieval arrowheads go, just because most of them seem to attach with a sleeve or socket, but I'm faaaaar from an expert on that. Either way, I kinda' like the idea of what this might look like on a Ranger's ...
