Beautiful work!!!
To join the throng of voices here, yes by all means carry modern emergency equipment! My Need wallet holds a mixture of modern items, such as medications (Benadryl, ibuprofen, etc.), and traditional ones, such as hardtack, only to be used at greatest need!

Re: Ideas for Livestream?
I love this idea, and the ideas that have been floated so far. I have been searching the forum, because something was tickling the back of my brain. Turns out, it's a pinned post right in from on my face http://middleearthrangers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3427 I think the steps outlined the...

A Long-Expected Project
A few years back, I posted that one of my goals for the new year (2018 I believe) was to launch a series on my YouTube channel concerning Middle Earth Rangers. One silver lining to the extensive quarantining that has resulted from COVID-19 has been the time it has given me to finally start the filmi...

Re: Some Musings on LARP/Prop Weapons
I have an idea that I've been kicking around for a while that deals with this very subject. Between conventions, renaissance festivals, blade restrictions while roaming, and the fact that the only European style sword I own is non functional anyway, the desire to have something authentic in appearan...

Re: Small stoppered tubes
That looks amazing and your pyrography is really cool :P maybe as a sewing kit, just wind thread around the outside of it? That was what I was going to suggest, Iodo. I carry a very similar needle case in my kit, with a long length of cord wrapped around it. The downside I've found is that the thre...

Re: What do we know of Eating Forks in Middle Earth?
Another reference that comes to mind from the Hobbit, though it also would be talking of a cooking, not eating fork: "The pale peaks of the mountains were coming nearer, moonlit spikes of rock sticking out of black shadows. Summer or not, it seemed very cold. He shut his eyes and wondered if he...

Re: What's in your (Need) Wallet?
I’ve been considering trying these: https://www.frontiersurvival.com/homemade-energy-bars-recipe/ It doesn’t have the number of servings this recipe makes, but the video showed a batch of 14 bars. Using that number, you would come out to roughly 300 calories per bar. The ingredients aren’t sup...

Joining the need wallet club
As one of the few pieces of gear that can be directly drawn from the source material, I’ve had a need wallet on my project list for quite some time. This one drew heavily from Elleth’s design, though I did not use buckles. 25E19665-DE5C-4C3D-A8D5-413BD7B3AB9F.jpeg I need to post an update to my ...

Re: Taking photos while out
On our last few camping trips I’ve carried an old digital camera and given it to the kids to wander around and use. It’s always fascinating what they chose to record, and the shots are definitely “candidâ€
