Re: Beorning Honey Cakes
Thanks. I'm going to try this recipe. Maybe wash it down with some mead that I made.

Nice! Is it custom, or available as a mass produced item? I'd love to get one.

Re: Swedish media group buys Middle-earth Enterprises
I agree, Zaentz and his corporate heirs would sell their grandmother, but I suspect this company may try and develop what is, in my humble opinion, the antithesis of the Professor's work: a theme park.

Re: Amazon's Wheel of Time Series
I don't know about 'wokeness.' There are more than just straight white guys who are fans of fantasy. I see nothing wrong with making a series recognizing that there's a world market of viewers, and allowing themselves to see people like them represented.

Thanks. Winter break starts today. Looking forward to not wrangling kids onto the bus before sunrise for a few weeks.

Yule 2020?
Are we doing a Yule gift exchange this year, or has 2020 been such a bust that we're just going to keep our heads down and wait for 2021?

Beautiful fan film. I'm especially geeked because it was filmed on the Czech side of the Carpathian mountains, near to the part of Poland my family is from.

My sons just finished their soccer games, so we're headed out to the Dragons Wood Inn for tonight and tomorrow. We've had some great fall weather (clear, dry, and cool) and will definitely have a fire tonight. Likely go for a hike tomorrow, with at least cloaks if not in more gear.

Re: Beekeeping
My son and I built a hive for his birthday in May, but we never got it set up. We have a local source for a nuc (queen and nucleus of hive) for next spring. Our garden already does very well, and we have a lot of wildflowers on our property as well, so I'm hoping a hive can get established. That bei...

Re: As promised, maps for sale!
My beautiful Dragons Wood Inn map that you made for me is framed and waiting for me to finish my "Dungeons & Dragons Game Room" refinish of my basement. However, I had another copy printed at a professional printer's, and am going to mount it to a board with clear shellac for hanging i...

Re: Rangers report!
We're lucky enough to have not just a large house so that we're not all on top of each other, but I have my Dragons Wood Inn project that I've been able to put a lot of time into. The Inn is on about a dozen wooded acres, and I've been checking the boundary lines. Probably thirty or forty years ago,...

Re: Rangermoot - June 2020
This event is on my 'quite possibly' list. If I do go, I have a vehicle that can carry 4 others and a lot of gear (and if it comes to it, 6 others and I could bring my trailer). If I do attend, I'll be driving from Indianapolis by Ft. Wayne, Toledo, Detroit/Windsor, Hamilton, and Toronto on the way ...
