A Quandary Over Buckles
So I've been working on my quiver, and the time has come to actualize my many ideas for the strap. The quiver is a leather back quicker in the style of the Ithilien Rangers (pictures will come eventually) but the strap that will hold it on is giving me a lot more trouble than the quiver itself did. ...

Re: 2016 Yuletide Gift Exchange
Ha, I am feeling the pressure as well. I've had some setbacks, but it is at the point where it looks like the thing it is meant to be. Going to log some serious work hours this weekend. Cheers, all!

Re: New Line Strider Build
Absolutely can't wait to see this develop more! Right up my alley. Please share as much as you can, as I'm very interested in some of the specifics of the pieces (as I'm sure others are, as well). Godspeed!

Re: Instagram
I think it's great to see people posting creative/artistic ranger photos, the way fellandfair and others have been doing. It helps drive inspiration a LOT when you see an awesome picture of rangers being rangers. Keep it up, so far it's been great.

Re: New Research - Boots for Ranger Impressions
Gods, I love this forum. It seems every time I'm really focusing on a specific piece of my kit, an elaborate topic has recently come to life on the very topic. Well done, all. Any links to where one can purchase soft leather/suede high boots? I'm willing to be lenient as far as anachronism of the so...

Re: 2016 Yuletide Gift Exchange
I've been waiting for this all year, because I love the idea of bringing the community together in a tangible way. I'm very ready to give back. So excited! Mat Impression: An Ithilien Ranger toward the end of the War of the Ring, with some real-world pagan influences. An archer above all else. Sugge...

Re: Rangers Existed.
I was about to ask this very question. I'd love to hear more about real-world rangers, and even hear of some factions within cultures that have ranger-like qualities. Obviously a great many cultures have hunters and woodsmen, but I'd like to hear more specifics. If I wanted to create a historical Da...

Re: Any ways on how to make fake leather look real?
Thought I'd throw in my 2 coppers worth. My Ithilien jerkin is faux leather. It's a vinyl made for outdoor upholstery which has a good deal more "leather" detail than the stuff used for Halloween costumes. It is still costume quality though, and I often wish I'd been able to go the extra m...

Re: Hand drawn ME maps
These are great, and really reasonably priced as well. I'd love to have for my kit a detailed map of the Ithilien area. Something a ranger might actually use to navigate the area, as a map of Middle-Earth is just zoomed too far out for any real use that way.
Good find, ranger.

Re: Kit Update and a gift from Taurinor (Pic Heavy)
Is it just a trick of the lighting/my eyes, or are the colors of your tunic a little more muted here than in your previous pictures? The last set of photos was taken in winter and I uploaded them. I'm colorblind, so I find it very difficult to tell if the coloring and whatnot is showing true in the...

Re: Kit Update and a gift from Taurinor (Pic Heavy)
Hey, your kit's looking pretty darn Good ! (sweet belt pouch, T.) Have you thought about making up a shoulder strap for the bota? I imagine that's gotta feel awkward hanging on the side of your belt like that. Thanks! Yeah, the rope thats on it is actually long enough to throw over the shoulder, I ...
