Re: Bicolline Group
Since my initial post there has been some development on this front. First and foremost I have attended an event, and written a blog post about it. Second I wrote a post about how to go to Bicolline for Americans, and third a friend and I have created a "psudo guild" for people we know who...

Re: Hidden Water Bottle Idea
I came across that one as well. It seems a bit big to carry around, but I could certainly see wrapping it in leather, and wandering from camp to camp at a large event!

Hidden Water Bottle Idea
Hello, I've been thinking about water, water carrying devices, and the like. I've seen a couple of interesting posts here, and elsewhere about wax coated leather and how to use sand to create your water bottle, but I've heard it tastes awful. My current thinking is to do so some sort of leather coat...

Amazing Leatherworking Class!!
Heya, I've noticed that a lot of us here like to work with leather for various projects. Certainly one can find a wealth of info online and learn through experimentation, but I find that it is helpful to take classes. Specifically, I like online classes since my particular territory is fairly rural....

Re: What Was Meant by "Gauntlets?"
I don't know that flared gloves would interfere with bow work, but I always envisioned the gauntlets in Tolkien as being soft leather gloves that came up to about mid forearm, and fit more snugly. Something like this.

Swordschool Online
Hi Everyone, I live in a pretty rural area (like many of you from pics I've seen), and as such it's tough for me to find any sort of medieval martial arts training within a reasonable commute of my house. As such I have been looking for a way to self train for years. At one point I stumbled across G...

Re: Looking for some boot options
I've put WAY too much thought into impression boots in general. The only guidance I've come up with came from a couple of different threads here, where ranger boots are described in the books as soft sided. I think it makes sense that they are soft soled as well. I even picked up the Plains boot pat...

Re: Bicolline Group
One of the unexpected amazing things I have discovered since moving back to NH from the Midwest is Bicolline. This discovery has led me to more discoveries in LARP locally and there seems to be a thriving community. Pretty much every weekend of the year that being outside is tolerable in New England...

Re: Numenorean design motifs
I have been thinking about what sort of white start to put on my garb, specifically for the chest of my eventual tunic, and eventual armor. For the most part I am leaning towards a 6 point version because to my eye the island of Numenor looks like it has six points. To my way of thinking a culture t...

Re: Bicolline Group
If there's enough interest it would be incredible to make a "Rangers of Gondor" guild, or some such.

Bicolline Group
Hey all,
I just became aware of this : https://www.bicolline.org/public/accueil/ in Montreal, which is about 4 hours from me in NH. Is there a ranger contingent there that ayone is aware of?

Re: Bocksten 'Ranger' Cloak - From EotW Winter 16-17
Thanks! I am incredibly excited to have a cloak like this. I might even try my hand at some sort of edge stitching. A couple of years ago I made a cloak pin out of some heavy gauge copper grounding wire, which could serve as a pin until I can manage a star. Over the past couple of years I have slowl...

Re: Bocksten 'Ranger' Cloak - From EotW Winter 16-17
I thought I saw a reference to some sort of tutorial in one of the threads referencing this build (I have counted 3 so far). Is there a tutorial somewhere? Specifically the sewing parts I will struggle with unless I have very clear instructions. I'm a fair hand at banging on metal until it behaves, ...
