Re: Any Éothéod
So I have had a bit of time to ponder this as I am a bit unwell. I started to think of the best place to gain detailed information as far back as I could. Here is some more food for thought. Baldor, son of Brego, son of Eorl was born the year before Eorls death 2544 which is 34 years after the Rorh...

Re: Hello From Minnesota
Wes þu hal Eólfur and welcome to the forums. It's always nice to see more Eorlingas emerging from the mists of the internet. Thank you, it was a lot of fun. Really just want to go ride them in kit for a day. I had the chance to ride them in Iceland a few years back and all I could think was how muc...

Re: Member Map
I think Eólfur has stolen my thunder! I suppose the names are somewhat similar.... grumble, grumble..... I shall add myself as there seems to be a shortage of us waaaaay down here. I had a half a second confusion the first time I saw your name on here on a thread I was certain I hadn't posted a rep...

Re: Member Map
Yeah, it is always hard to tell with forums these days. This forum is a bit more active than most I am on or have been on these days. Which isn't saying much. A lot of forums are moving to Discord. That is where I have my Viking Reenactment group. Since most forums don't have smartphone apps, I don'...

Re: New Member Introduction
Thank you all. I am looking forward to new adventures. Being new to this type of forum, how does one post pictures? It does not look like I can upload them directly from my computer to this post. When you are creating a post/reply, there is an option below the text window to add attachments. Or you...

Re: Hello From Minnesota
awesome photo's :P Thank you, it was a lot of fun. Really just want to go ride them in kit for a day. What an adorable creature!! I absolutely love these horses. For their size they are very sturdy animals. They are similar to Shetland ponies, which were used as one of the horses that played Bill t...

Re: Hello From Minnesota
A couple photos of the soft kit I have for my Viking Age Reenactment as well as a photo of our photoshoot with come Icelandic Horses that we did back in March. This is my wool stuff and I do have linen as well. I'll be using this as I start to build out my Éothéod impression.

Yeah, that is why I thought of Magyar as well, to add in that stronger horse based lifestyle. I eill need to be cautious as to what I ass in so as not to stray too far in look and feel.

Not sure if there is any interest in reviving this and getting it update, but I added myself to the map. Looking kinda lonely up here in Minnesota.

Re: Any Éothéod
Ah, that’s super cool! I’m unaware of anybody here portraying that culture and period. If I were to tackle it, I’d probably start with the early Anglo-Saxon as a base (5th-6th c. vs say 9th-10th as the later Rohirrim), maybe some Migration/Vendel period, and then perhaps a little prehistoric to giv...

Re: The Search for the Entwives, photos please
Nice one  Thanks! The beach there is full of trees like this where the river has washed away the beach to reveal the roots of the trees. My wife and I did a photoshoot there for our gender reveal for out twins. Such a cool park to visit. The waterfall is a bit of a walk, but well worth it.

Any Éothéod
So I have been delving into re-reading the books, poking through the forum and the newsletters to get myself better acquainted with Middle Earth cultures, the Éothéod is one that is sticking out for me right now as a possible impression. Thinking sometime in the middle to end of when they were livin...
