Re: Show Me Your Hot Kits
Where abouts in south Florida? I’m in west central and I know Ringolf is in Florida as well, when I get a chance I’ll post some pictures of what I’ve come up with for garb / equipment for the marshes

Re: Middle Earth Cattle and Dairy Products
If I remember properly, sheep are mentioned as one of the trolls meals in The Hobbit, as well as cheese being mentioned as a food the hobbits eat. I feel that sheep / goat milk would be used more in eriabor. Not sure if anyone else has a memory of cattle being mentioned, but I can’t see them not exi...

Re: Rangers of Ithilien posting
I tend to think of the Ithilien rangers similar to Roger’s Rangers in early US. They are a scout and guerilla warfare group, they are equipped by the military, but more than likely are able to change and augment their clothing and armament as they or the mission dictates. They have scouts going out ...

Re: Rings of Power- Your thoughts?
My view at this point is simply, I will continue watching to see what happens, but I have no interest in rewatching episodes. I rewatch everything, the trilogy, the Witcher, movies and tv shows beyond count I will rewatch because it still brings me joy, I have zero interest in rewatching any of the ...

Re: Waxed Canvas Bedroll/Hammock
Also, I agree that hammocks are appropriate for descendants of numenor, the hammock is a seafarers sleeping system for sure, and using a hammock helps you get off the ground and stay dry in wet climates and conditions

Re: Waxed Canvas Bedroll/Hammock
I’ve been trying to figure out a good hammock setup for a month and this is brilliant, how heavy is it/ how bulky is it?

Re: Did the Men of Dale have a cavalry?
I recently watched your video and I love how you put together your kit. I am unsure if the men of dale have any Calvary, however I feel that a Viking style shield would not be enough to cause similarity between your garb and a rohirim soft kit. Drawing from your choice of sword and the reasoning beh...

Re: Tall Boot Problems
So I've recently made a small amount of additions to my kit, one of which being new boots, however I've run into a problem and would like to know if anyone else faces it, and if so what their solution is(though I know the answer for most will likely be legwraps). So, how does everyone keep their pa...

Re: Hard drinks in Middle Earth
Coincidentally, Tudor Monastic Farm popped up on youTube's recommendations for me this morning, and there's a neat little piece on the distillation of brandy from wine in the Tudor era - https://youtu.be/3iGhuzXbdJM?t=3004 ... Also, I assume we all know this, but just in case - for those of us in t...

Re: How far would a ranger range?
At weather top, Aragorn mentions that rangers may have passed by and left the firewood, which makes me think that they do patrol through the major land marks and villages, and then go off rumors and news to look at threats. For an individual patrol into the wilderness, other than Aragorn being alone...

Battle ready vs sport combat
This isn’t a post asking the differences, more of which you all prefer to have in you kit. I’m debating between a few swords, and the main difference is one is battle ready and more expensive, and one is a sport combat / HEMA sword and is a little cheaper, but not much. I want to be able to practice...

Re: What's everyone working on?
Working on a linen tunic and cloak (wool turned out to be too hot), and was wondering - do yall just wax cloaks, and does anyone do oilcloth for a cloak? I just have a simple canvas drop cloth for my cloak, i have been planning to wax it or try an oilcloth treatment but I haven’t been able to get a...
