Re: Do these blades fit?
The one with the teeth looks pretty modern. Maybe if you could grind the teeth off and hide the holes, but otherwise, it looks kinda tacticool. The bottom one looks like it could perhaps work as maybe an orc utility knife, if you want to go the captured weapon/tool route. Despite my sword, I really ...

Re: Hard drinks in Middle Earth
Eofor to the rescue! I love me some cider and the distilled cider is intriguing. I would very much like to try to make some one day once we get more settled in. That makes sense about the strength of ancient alcohol. Now I know why I never see anything non-distilled stronger than a little over 20%. ...

Re: Battle ready vs sport combat
Do what I do. Get your sharp, love it and slice with it, but then make an exact copy of it as a wooden waster. Then, you could train with a copy of yoyr sharp. It'll also give you a good woodworking project and make your waster all the more personal. There are instructions online. Be sure to use a g...

Re: Made a soup spoon
Very nice! How is it treated? I oiled mine, but a more durable finish would be nice. Most importantly, does it fit in your mouth? Mine came out like one of those Chinese soup spoons; the Japanese call them renge. Maybe influence from my Time in the east

Re: On Bracers and Vambraces
I like my bracers. I try to wear mine whenever I go out. Its important to get them properly sized or they'll fit bad. I would say go for shorter ones to be sure they fit well. Mine are lighter than I would like, but some forearm defense is better than none at all. They're about 8-10 oz bison. I stil...

Re: Hard drinks in Middle Earth
Iodo, I figured Dwarves would have much in the way of distilling spirits. I am currently rereading the books, starting with The Hobbit, so I'll post if I find some more evidence. What about the Uruk-Hai liqour they give to Merry and Pippin, does that count? Somehow it gives energy rather than make o...

Re: Rings of Power- Your thoughts?
The oldest daughter and I did that tonight with wooden swords. I've really learned to appreciate the importance of good hand protection!

Re: Rings of Power- Your thoughts?
It was terrible! Nothing like the books. That was not Galadriel. That was not Elrond. They could have made the Elves noble beings, like they're supposed to. But they're just humans. The Harfoots were not Hobbits. Wheres the comfort? They shouldnt even exist yet. Gandalf is a homeless man. Surprising...

"But what about dragons?" "Arrow!" said the bowman. "Black arrow! I have saved you to the last. You have never failed me and always I have recovered you. I had you from my farther and he from of old. If ever you came from the forges of the true king under the Mountain, go n...

Re: Ahoy!
Welcome, welcome! You really did find the right place! Trust me, your persona will evolve over time and settle into something just right for you. Togon started out as kind of a crazy veteran who just patrols his area just because. He eventually became an actual Ithillien Ranger. Your kit looks good ...

Re: Hello
Welcome! Maybe you could be a Dunedain on a mission to the southlands? But hey, I could always use another ranger of Gondor to help patrol the southern and eastern borders! Either way, its a fun hobby with cool people.
