Re: What's everyone working on?

A little more on topic: Athfwyn, I loveee the fabric choice! and the photo you took is breathtaking. I personally am working on finishing a couple of my first leather commissions, which are not in any way related to this hobby but are going to help me establish my online brand! After I finish the tw...

Re: What's everyone working on?

Kramer aka "Living Anachronism" is moving from PA to UT (Utah). I'm not sure he thought that out very well. With their laws, he might not even be allowed to own a sword (not sure). Plus, isn't it mostly desert out there? I watch Matts Offroad Recovery and I have NEVER seen them in a fores...

Re: Dúnedain Sword Designs

Manveruon, how do you think the designs of Gondorian swords might differ from the swords of the Northern Dunedain?

Re: Arbedo--New Ranger Sword?

As a suggestion, add some packing between the blade and the wood when you wet form. If it ends up a little loose its easier to fix then if its tight and you can't get your sword out. Thanks, ForgeCorvus, I'll take note of that! Nice! Who makes it? It's the discontinued Windlass model, I got it off ...

Re: Arbedo--New Ranger Sword?

No prob! I'm going to try a new method for making the core. Previously I've used 1/4" poplar planks and a three layer construction for a core that I shaved down and shaped with a small planer, but I'm going to try using 1/8" boards soaked and wet-formed around the blade for this next one.

Re: Arbedo--New Ranger Sword?

Re-wrapped the grip on this one too! Came out a little cleaner this time.

Can't wait to make a new scabbard for it.

Re: Dwarven Blade Examples

I have the Centurion Gladius by Windlass, and while I love the sword, I don't feel it fits either Ranger or Dwarven looks very well. Thats just personal preference though.

Re: Dúnedain Sword Designs

I tried to post here before, but Spamhaus wouldn't let me lol. I like a number of these designs, particularly the fourth, fifth, and seventh. I'm a sucker for fishtail pommels as well, so the Bristol is always going to be a favorite no matter what. What I particularly like about the fourth and fifth...

Re: Dwarven Blade Examples

One particular sword from history that I feel would make an excellent Khazad sword is the katzbalger, albeit with a different hilt construction. It was made as a sidearm when fighting was too close for the long pikes and halberds of the Landsknecht, and had a broad slashing blade with multiple fulle...

Arbedo--New Ranger Sword?

I've been wanting to get my hands on this particular model of sword for most of a decade, and I finally managed to get one! It's my preferred size for a Ranger sword, a bastard sword with the blade length of a medium-length arming sword. I'm also a sucker for Type XVIIIa blades like this, especially...

Dwarven Blade Examples

I was looking for some good examples of what a Dwarven blade might look like and came across these. They're basically Dark Age swords, but the thing that sets two of them apart is multiple fullers, while the third is an unusual grip. I think Dwarven blades would probably look mostly the same as huma...

Coustille Grip Re-Wrap

just re-wrapped the grip on my Coustille. It's my first attempt, so not quite as clean as I would like, but I'm happy with it overall. I keep meaning to get around to wrapping the scabbard as well, just haven't gotten to it yet. I have an Arbedo coming in today and will probably re-wrap the grip on ...
