I hadn't thought of using the bellows as a pack board that's a very clever solution, I worked at a Spanish living history museum for awhile and ran concertina bellows, agreed a double action bellow is much easier when operating by yourself. Where I live it's mostly sandy soil so a bit of pipe it is....
