Thanks everyone. I went with the mink oil because its what I have readily availible and it seems to work great. I'm puting it on everything now. I go back to the ren fair this weekend and they say there is a chance of rain but now Im not really worried about it now.

Well if you wanted to glue them I would recomend leather cement. but if you go with that I would make sure you have it curved (like it was on your arm) so that it will not losen the glue when it its bent to your arm.
